Learn How To Make Laboratory Warning Signs With Your Labeler

There are no specific sign designs for laboratories. The standard safety, notice, warning, etc. signs are used.

According to OSHA's recommendations for chemical hygiene in laboratories, prominent signs and labels of the following types should be posted:

(a) Emergency telephone numbers of emergency personnel/facilities, supervisors, and laboratory workers (see Notice Signs)

(b) Identity labels, showing contents of containers (including waste receptacles) and associated hazards (see samples below and RTK Signs)

(c) Location signs for safety showers, eyewash stations, other safety and first aid equipment, exits and areas where food and beverage consumption and storage are permitted (see Safety Signs)

(d) Warnings at areas or equipment where special or unusual hazards exist (see Warning Signs)

In addition to proper signage, good labeling is essential, both for safety and record keeping, in laboratories.
