Design
Requirements: Caution signs are usually rectagular in shape.
The body is yellow with a black upper panel. The word "CAUTION"
is printed in yellow on the black upper panel. Specific information
and pictograms, on the lower portion of the sign, is printed in
black.
A caution
sign indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.
Caution signs
are used in areas where potential injury or equipment damage is
possible, or to caution against unsafe practices.

Caution
signs are to be posted to indicate a possible hazard against
which proper precautions should betaken. Whenever an employee
is exposed to sound levels exceeding the levels prescribed
by OSHA, the employer must ensure that hearing protection
is worn. This informational marking serves to remind employees
that they have entered an area where hearing protection
must be worn.
